Bathroom Modernisation Project, Mr. T, Monkseaton (name and address withheld to comply with GDPR)

It was late July 2018 when the client visited our showroom, fully intent on ‘just having a look around’. After we got to talking bathrooms (as we do quite often here!) he explained that he was completing on a new house purchase that very day and was planning to completely remodel the house. As with all our customers we showed him our 4D design software, that really does let you experience your new bathroom before you buy, and he was so impressed by the experience that asked us to book him in for a measure-up appointment as soon as possible.

Our first experience of the scope of the project was the onsite meeting. The house was a 4-bed detached with one main and two en suite bathrooms. This house was impressively large, but its luxury potential was let down by the bathroom areas; the main bathroom was tired-looking, and for a house of this size, relatively small, no larger than most of the bathrooms we install on a daily basis. The ensuites were also small but had enormous potential for our redesign skills.

The client had intimated that he was planning some radical changes to the downstairs areas of the house, removing walls and creating some open plan spaces for the home and was very receptive to major changes upstairs.

We asked if he would be willing to sacrifice a bedroom to facilitate the installation of a spectacular bathroom. As he was planning to add a bedroom in the loft area, he agreed to our idea almost immediately. His only criteria were that the bathroom upgrades all had to ‘look good’.

It was highly unusual to be given such creative freedom, especially on a project of this this scope and size!

Behind the master en suite was a small bedroom (the box room for this house, albeit a big box!) and the plan was to break through from the ensuite into this area and block up the entry from the dressing area. We now had a bathroom with entry from the existing bedroom door that was over 4.Sm in length and nearly 2.Sm wide, a biggy, as we say in the bathroom business! This was much more in keeping with a house of this size.

We then planned to block up the entry of the old main bathroom and create a new entry from the master bedroom, adding an improved en suite bathroom.

Over the next few weeks the designs were created, the details ironed out and prices agreed. Visuals were done on the 4D design package and presented to both the client and his family. They were absolutely thrilled with the concept visuals, and we were really keen to begin the project, as we love doing extraordinary projects that push our creative skills.

Installation commenced on all thee bathrooms on 22nd August 2018 and all had been snagged and finalised by 29th September 2018 with a very happy client family enjoying some very luxurious facilities in their redesigned home.

The images of the final project (shown on the individual pages below) bear testimony to the faithfulness of our project to the original design that we created.

The client was so delighted with the results that he commissioned us to install a steam room / bathroom in the loft area of home.
